FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I sign up for classes if: I'm not athletic/ flexible, have weak arms, don't wear size S, turned 18 half a century ago, or haven't turned 18 yet?
Absolutely! These are common concerns for most beginners. Believe it or not, the person on the pole next to you (even three levels up) probably had the same worries when they first started. Remember, practice makes perfect. Our class program is designed to gradually strengthen and prepare your body for more challenging moves at higher levels, regardless of your size or age :) It's not about numbers here, it's about your willingness to take action.

2. I would like to attend regular classes, but I work two shifts.
No worries at all! In our schedule, you will also find morning classes on Saturdays. Additionally, you can always arrange individual sessions with us, tailored to fit your schedule and expectations.

3. Are the groups divided into skill levels?
Yes, starting from the INTRO group (for those who have never tried pole dance before) up to the ADVANCED group (for advanced participants), you can choose the level that suits you best. You can find descriptions of each level here. If you're unsure which group would be ideal for you or if you've trained in pole dance before and don't want to start from scratch, feel free to contact us, and we'll be happy to assist.

4. How long does it take to learn Pole Dance / Aerial Hoop?
It depends on how far you want to go :) You'll see results after just a few regular sessions. However, if you fall in love with this sport, it can accompany you for years, providing constant opportunities for development. Pole Dance and Aerial Hoop are infinite and creative; how long they stay in your life is entirely up to you.

5. How large are the groups?
The studio has 6 poles, so our classes are intimate, with groups of up to 6 people, each having a pole to themselves. For Aerial Hoop classes, there are 3 hoops, which are shared with another participant due to the nature of the sport. The exception is Stretching classes, where the limit is 10 participants.

6. What equipment do we use in classes?
The studio is equipped with static and spinning poles from X-Pole (two 45 mm powder-coated, two 45 mm chrome, and one each of 40 mm powder-coated and chrome). Additionally, we have 3 aerial hoops with diameters of 90-95-100 cm. During individual or Open Pole sessions, participants will also have the opportunity to try the Flying Pole from the Polish company M-Pole.

7. How should I prepare for classes?
First and foremost, bring a positive attitude and a water bottle. Arrive a bit early to change and prepare. On the day of training, avoid using body lotion, tanning beds, and of course, alcohol and other substances. Also, remove jewelry (it can harm you or damage the equipment). Wear comfortable, sporty attire. For Pole Dance classes, we recommend short, sporty shorts exposing knees and thighs, a sports bra, and a tank top exposing armpits and elbows. For Aerial Hoop classes, wear long socks, leggings, and a sweatshirt/long-sleeve top (the more covered, the better). Don't worry about footwear – we practice barefoot or in socks.

8. How do I sign up for classes?
If you haven't been with us before, send a DM or private message on FB, IG, stating the group/day of classes you're interested in. At this stage, we'll help you choose the appropriate group level for a trial session. If you're already assigned to a group, you can independently sign up through the Fitssey online booking system. Each participant has their own account, allowing them to sign up/cancel classes, purchase passes, and check remaining entries.

9. How are classes conducted?
We start with a warm-up to prepare the body and reduce the risk of injury, then spend the rest of the session learning new moves/transitions/combos, and end with stretching and relaxation.

10. What if I can't attend a class?
Simply cancel via Fitssey, ideally at least 12h/24h before the scheduled class. You don't need to provide a reason, and you can make up for missed classes within the validity of your pass. If you cannot attend after the cancellation deadline, you must still inform the studio and release your spot so that another person can participate. In such cases, the entry will be deducted from your active pass. Failure to attend without notifying the studio results in debiting the entry from your pass and losing the ability to reserve a spot in the group.

11. What are the contraindications for practicing Pole Dance?
Pregnancy, postpartum period, recent tattoos, chronic spine injuries, and recovery after surgeries/treatments are common contraindications. In most cases, it's best to consult your health condition with a doctor or physiotherapist. However, in your case, Pole Dance may be recommended! Remember, like any sport, Pole Dance carries the risk of injury. Initially, expect some bruises and scratches :)

12. What additional classes will help me progress in Pole Dance?
Great complements include strengthening and stretching classes, as well as those focusing on dance or acrobatic skills. It's also beneficial to attend Open Pole sessions, which stimulate creativity and provide an opportunity to work on challenging elements.
